Joseph B. Harvin was born in Columbia, South Carolina in 1952. He is married with two children and has resided in Louisiana for more than 18 years. Harvin has a B. A. degree in business from St. Andrews Presbyterian College, a J. D. degree from George Mason University School of Law, and a Masters at Law Degree in Admiralty Law from Tulane University School of Law. His state bars association memberships include Louisiana, South Carolina, and Virginia. He is also a member of the Louisiana Trial Lawyers Association, South Carolina Trial Lawyers Association, and the New Orleans Bar Association. In 1981, Harvin started practicing law. Since then, he has had more than 21 years of litigation experience as an attorney.
